But rarely do such units possess the extra features that home units have. At the same time, the commercial units are usually small and can accommodate only one person at a time. Home units, on the other hand, can accommodate two.

Another type of steam shower is called the portable unit or the steam capsule. It does not have a solid enclosure similar to the home units. It is considerably smaller too. The height of portable steam shower units barely reaches the chest of an average person. The user of this unit will need to turn on the steam generator from the outside before getting inside the pliable enclosure. These portable units are suitable for people who travel a lot and wanted to take along their steam showers with them.
